Most editors have already integrated AI. When a user uploads content, they are able to understand and transform it. However, none of the them can change or adapt based on the content.
It is not enough to sqeeze AI into an editor. We need to rethink what we can achieve with an ai editor from first principles.
What I am experimenting with is an editor that understands the media but also changes its own UI and adapts to the content. I like to imagine that I am building a game. A game that creates itself based on the user’s content. The user uploads media and the editor creates a game around it for them. There are no rules or fixed controls. It all changes based on the type of content the user wants to edit.
We need to think beyond what we have been conditioned to use.
What would it take to turn editing from a chore into an enjoyable experience that people look forward to?
Editors of today are bloated tools with strict rules and patterns, the editors of the future, they will be no different from games.
